Medium: video projection mapping
I make art with video projection, designing both the animations and in most cases the final projected surface/art installation. I have projected on 3D objects, sculptures, items existing in nature, and even entire buildings. I'm bringing out a few cake projections that I've done for special events recently.
When I first got sober I had no idea how to process my emotions and was constantly a wreck and I learned to channel that into art. Mental illness, addiction, and trauma are all common themes of my work and I hope that my art helps someone else as much as it has helped me.
Medium: pen, acrylic, mixed media
My spiders and scorpions have become just another obsession and I LOVE shopping estate sales to re-purpose old ugly necklaces into beautiful creations. The hermit crabs are the latest addition to my beading projects and watching their little personalities form as they are on my beading table is the best!
I love to play with the paint and capture the joy and beauty I see in nature. My painting practice is also a way for me to stay centered in the moment. While I'm painting, light, shapes, and color are all I hold in my mind; the rest can wait until later. That keeps me joyful, too!
Medium: watercolor painting
Medium: beaded creations
Medium: poetry, narratives, journals, collage, paint, oil pastels
I’ve never considered myself a visual artist—gravitated more to music and poetry and discovered things like collage and paint quite by accident. But to me, it’s all a process. “Play’s the thing,” I like to say. When I’m truly myself, it’s what I do best.
Medium: Beaded tapestry and mosaic
Recovery Kitty is a labor of love for me. I spend a lot of time with beaded work and have recently started working with broken china mosaics. When I am working on a tapestry or creating a mosaic time passes and suddenly it has been 6 hours.! It truly is my "zone."
I channel most of my anxieties into my art. Anytime I'm feeling out of whack, I know creating something will almost always help me feel a little bit better. Being able to make something original to me helps ground me and stay in the moment. I take things one day at a time.
Medium: Acrylic paint
Cris’s colorful and vibrant work ranges from abstract to landscape and seascapes to portraiture and figurative work. In her most recent series entitled “Women of the Times“, her paintings embody the classic and stoic female with vibrant and expressive posture and attire.
Medium: Pen, digital, watercolor, acrylic paint
About 10 years ago when I got got sober for the first time. I didn't know what to do with my free time now that I wasn't going out all the time and I was well through the day. I had a friend teach me a simple knit stitch. I've grown my skills over the last 10 years and I really enjoy being able to make these fun projects. I hope you enjoy it.
Medium: Mixed Media
For as long as she can remember, Karen has had a love for torn, rusted, discarded treasures. Her Brownie camera was her first tool for bringing home images that caught her eye. As a prolific letter writer from a young age, and a mom who enabled her love of papers and pens and pencils, she created little works of art on the envelopes. Her tiny canvases traveled across the states, telling a story using the bits she collected. Today, her art is a continuation of that same process.

Medium: Paper/ mixed media
Making homemade cards, journals, calendars, and scrapbooks keeps me in the present moment and gives me great joy. I use paper, ink, water color and acrylic paints, stamped images, thread, ribbons, anything that sparkles, adding different textures and layers. My current art work is of colorful water colored feathers with glass beads hand sewn on and framed by machine stitching.
