Randy Grimes – 10-year veteran of the NFL who was addicted to opioids for 20+ years

Randy Grimes, a former professional football player whose career spanned 10 years with the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers, spent more than 20 years battling an addiction to pain killers he developed while treating career-related injuries. He finally reached his bottom and after crawling into a treatment center, he was able to receive the help he so desperately needed to live. Randy now dedicates his life to speaking to a wide array of audiences about prevention, addiction and recovery, and working as an Interventionist and National Director of Professional Relations at Transformations Treatment Center in Delray Beach, Florida. In 2012, Randy founded Athletes in Recovery (AIR), a program designed to help athletes at all levels find help dealing with addiction, while offering continued support to those in recovery. His story is amazing and his message inspirational.
Randy is also a regular commentator with various networks and media outlets, (NFL Network, Anderson
Cooper, Father Albert, CNN, Fox Sports, Fox News, MSNBC, and Sirius XM) and has been featured in
many newspapers (New York Times, New Your Daily News, USA Today, Washington Post, etc.).
Grimes will be a keynote speaker at the 11th Annual Many Paths One Destination (MPOD) community
event celebrating recovery, spirituality, and fellowship in San Jose, California on October 12, 2019, 9:30
AM–3:30 PM. This “event gathers people from the many paths of recovery to celebrate [their] common
goal of freedom from addiction, to increase awareness of addiction and recovery, and to inspire
collaboration and community”. It is free and open to the public. Lunch will be available for $10. Other
speakers: Andy Gold – Comedian; Kyczy Hawk – Recovery Yoga; and, Chris Packham, BA, LAADC –
Recovery, Nutrition, and Exercise. Up to 3.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered in
partnership with Many Paths One Destination and Connections Counseling Associates for $10.
